Suns 87, Jazz 85: Gerald Green scored 24 points in 22 minutes off the bench as host Phoenix edged Utah.

Eric Bledsoe added 16 points and five assists for the Suns, who stayed mathematically alive by pulling within 3 1/2 games of Oklahoma City for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference. Brandan Wright scored 14 points and Markieff Morris had 10 points and seven rebounds for Phoenix.

Gordon Hayward scored 21 points and Rodney Hood added 17 for the Jazz, who had a three-game winning streak come to an end. Derrick Favors scored 14 points and Rudy Gobert grabbed 15 rebounds for Utah.

Green had seven points in a 10-2 run that put the Suns in front 80-76 midway through the fourth but Hayward kept the Jazz close and hit a jumper to cut the deficit to 84-83 with 2:39 to play. Bledsoe split a pair of free throws to put Phoenix in front 87-85 with 16.3 seconds left and Joe Ingles missed a runner in the lane before Hood’s last-second final attempt for Utah fell short after apparent body contact that did not draw a foul call.

Green scored eight points and Morris added a four-point play just in front of the buzzer as the Suns ended the second quarter with a 16-4 run to take a 47-37 lead into the locker room. The lead reached 13 points on Bledsoe’s jumper early in the third before the Jazz fought back to tie it at 61 on Bryce Cotton’s 3-pointer before grabbing a three-point lead heading into the fourth.
