Jazz 87, Knicks 82: Derrick Favors had 29 points and 12 rebounds as host Utah handed New York its fifth straight loss.

Rodney Hood scored a career-high 17 points as the Jazz won for the 10th time in 13 games. Joe Ingles scored 12 points and Rudy Gobert had 10 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots for Utah, which was without Gordon Hayward due to back issues.

Alexey Shved made four 3-pointers while scoring a season-high 21 points for the Knicks, who drop to 4-28 on the road. Andrea Bargnani tallied 20 points and Cole Aldrich added 17 points and 13 rebounds as New York lost its NBA-high 51st game.

The contest was tied at 73 before Ingles scored five points in 35 seconds to give the Jazz a five-point edge with 5:28 to play. Hood’s floater gave Utah an 84-77 lead with 1:37 remaining but the Knicks crept to within 85-82 on three free throws by Shved with 26.6 seconds left before Trey Burke hit two free throws for the final margin.

Favors had 20 first-half points to help Utah take a 43-35 lead into the break. New York used a 10-0 run in the third quarter to take a 57-51 lead on Aldrich’s basket with 3:27 to go before the Jazz recovered to take a two-point lead and the contest was tied at 65 entering the final stanza.
