Timberwolves 104, Pacers 91: Kevin Love recorded 42 points and 16 rebounds while Ricky Rubio tied a franchise record with 17 assists to lead Minnesota over visiting Indiana.

Love was 14-of-22 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range to notch his fourth 40-point game of the season as the Timberwolves won their second straight. Corey Brewer and J.J. Barea had 12 points each while Ronny Turiaf added 11 before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury.

Paul George led the way with 35 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana, which turned the ball over 21 times. George Hill contributed 13 points while Lance Stephenson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 40.2 percent from the field.

Love registered 19 points on 6-of-9 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds in the first half as the Timberwolves led by as much as 20 before settling for a 52-39 edge at intermission. George tallied 15 points in the opening half to keep Indiana in it, but the Pacers had 13 turnovers.

George scored 18 in the third quarter as Indiana crept within eight and Love matched him with 18, including a basket in the final seconds for an 82-72 lead going into the fourth. The Pacers pulled within five quickly before Barea scored four during a 12-2 run to build the lead to 94-79 and Minnesota was on its way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota G Kevin Martin (thumb) missed his fourth straight game and C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) sat out his 10th in a row. The two combine to average 37 points per game. … Indiana F David West, who came in averaging 20 points over his last six games, was 2-of-10 from the field and scored only four. … Minnesota is 13-7 against Eastern Conference opponents, splitting a pair with Indiana this season.
