Pelicans 98, Timberwolves 91: Anthony Davis collected 26 points and 10 rebounds as New Orleans used a big fourth quarter to hold off visiting Minnesota.

Eric Gordon added 20 points for the Pelicans, who have won six of their last eight. Brian Roberts scored 16 points, including a jumper as the shot clock was winding down in the final minute to help New Orleans close it out.

Kevin Love recorded 26 points and 19 boards while Corey Brewer scored 16 for the Timberwolves. Kevin Martin added 15 points and Ricky Rubio had 11 points and six assists as Minnesota dropped to 10-17 on the road.

The Timberwolves took a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter but Love began the final period on the bench and the Pelicans took advantage with a 21-6 burst, taking a 78-77 lead on Eric Gordon’s dunk with 7:09 left. Love finally ended a scoring drought of over three minutes with a layup to cut it to 82-79 but Gordon responded with a jumper and extended the advantage to six points with a 3-pointer just over a minute later as New Orleans put it away.

The Timberwolves led 47-42 at the half and used a 10-0 run late in the third to spread the advantage to 71-59 before Austin Rivers hit a jumper to close it to 71-61 heading to the fourth. Minnesota struggled to 37.3 percent from the field but stayed in it by attempting 21 more free throws than the Pelicans.
