Wizards 88, Warriors 85: Bradley Beal led the way with 20 points and John Wall hit the go-ahead 3-pointer as Washington edged host Golden State.

Wall finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Wizards, who moved back to .500 at 22-22. Nene added 16 points and seven boards while Trevor Ariza recorded nine points and 11 rebounds for Washington.

Stephen Curry scored 23 points and Klay Thompson had 13 for the Warriors, who shot 37.5 percent from the field. David Lee added 11 points and Andrew Bogut hauled in 14 rebounds as Golden State fell for the fifth time in seven games.

Thompson capped an 11-2 burst with a 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 79-77 lead with 6:37 left. The Wizards hit four straight free throws to take back the lead and went up 85-80 on Ariza’s layup with 5:05 to play.

Lee’s layup knotted it at 85 with 1:47 on the clock but Wall answered with a 3-pointer and Andre Iguodala and Curry each missed tying 3-point attempts over the next two possessions. Golden State got one last chance after a miss at the other end but Curry misfired again at the buzzer.

The Warriors’ bench - highlighted by a rare 3-pointer from Marreese Speights - helped grab the lead in the second quarter and Curry’s jumper made it a 10-point edge before Washington scored the final six points of the half to cut it to 49-45 at the break. Beal scored seven points during a 12-0 burst that put the Wizards in front 59-51 midway through the third quarter.

Golden State answered with the next 12 points to take back the lead but fell behind 66-65 when Martell Webster closed the third quarter with a 3-pointer for Washington. Beal’s three 3-pointers in the first 2:05 of the fourth increased it to a 75-68 bulge before the Warriors called timeout and regrouped.
