Kings 123, Trail Blazers 119: DeMarcus Cousins matched a season high with 35 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Rudy Gay added a season-high 32 points as host Sacramento defeated Portland.

Isaiah Thomas contributed 22 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Kings, who had lost the first two contests of a five-game homestand before stunning the Trail Blazers. Derrick Williams added 14 points off the bench.

Damian Lillard made seven 3-pointers and scored 26 of his career-best 41 points in the fourth quarter and LaMarcus Aldridge added 24 points and eight rebounds for the Trail Blazers. Robin Lopez added 18 points and seven rebounds for Portland, which has lost four of six games

The Kings held a seven-point lead early in the fourth quarter before Gay scored nine straight Sacramento points during a 12-3 burst to open up a 94-78 advantage and the lead soon topped out at 19. Portland made a frantic late-game push as Lillard scored 14 points in a 49-second span to get the Trail Blazers within 121-119 with 16.5 seconds left before Thomas made two free throws to help the Kings hold on.

Portland had a 60-55 halftime lead before Sacramento stepped up its game. The Kings held the Trail Blazers to 13 third-quarter points and took an 80-73 lead into the final stanza before holding off Portland’s 46-point final-quarter push.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cousins has recorded double-doubles in nine consecutive games and the 30-point outing is his seventh of the campaign. … Trail Blazers F Nicolas Batum (fractured finger) wore a splint and had 11 points and 11 rebounds. … Thomas knocked down two 3-pointers and has made at least one in 27 straight contests.
