Warriors 123, Heat 114: Stephen Curry hit eight 3-points en route to 36 points and added 12 assists as visiting Golden State knocked off Miami to push its winning streak to seven straight.
David Lee collected 32 points and 14 rebounds and Klay Thompson scored 16 for the Warriors, who are enjoying their longest winning streak since taking eight straight in 2005. Harrison Barnes chipped in 15 points off the bench as Golden State improved to 3-0 on its seven-game road trip.
LeBron James scored 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting but committed eight turnovers for the Heat. Dwyane Wade played despite leaving the last game with back spasms and contributed 22 points while Chris Bosh scored 19 for Miami.
James’ jumper cut it to 111-107 with 4:28 left but Lee responded with a basket and James turned the ball over and missed two free throws. Curry buried a 3-pointer and Lee scored again between two defenders to spread it back to 118-107 as the Warriors closed it out.
Golden State came out on fire, hitting 13 of its first 15 shots and going 15-of-19 from the field in the first quarter to grab a 38-33 lead. Lee was 5-of-5 in the frame and Curry knocked down a trio of 3-pointers but the Warriors could not gain much separation as Miami scored 11 points off six turnovers.
The Heat began the second quarter with a 9-1 burst to grab the lead but Golden State responded with an 8-0 run to reclaim the advantage and went into the break with a 65-61 cushion. The Warriors began the third quarter with a 9-0 spurt, capped by a 3-pointer from Curry, to take a 13-point lead and pushed it to 86-71 on Thompson’s 3-pointer with 5:54 left in the period.
The lead was still 15 points after Curry’s 3-pointer with 3:27 left in the third before Miami closed with an 11-5 run to cut it to single digits heading into the fourth. Golden State grabbed a 12-point edge early in the period before the Heat began to make a run.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Warriors are the first Western Conference team to beat Miami on its home floor since Golden State did it last season. … Curry has an NBA-high four 30-point, 10-assist games and an NBA-best 10 20-point, 10-assist outings. … Wade and F Chris Andersen (soreness) were both questionable but both played for the Heat, with Andersen chipping in two points and two rebounds in 17 minutes.
