Pelicans 96, Lakers 85: Anthony Davis had 32 points, 12 rebounds and six blocked shots as host New Orleans snapped an 11-game losing streak against Los Angeles.
Davis was 12-for-18 from the floor and scored 11 points in the final six-plus minutes. Eric Gordon had 16 points and Jrue Holiday contributed 13 points and 13 assists for the Pelicans, who had just nine turnovers.
Chris Kaman paced the Lakers with 16 points. Steve Blake and Nick Young had 13 apiece and Jordan Hill hauled in 13 boards in 22 minutes off the bench.
New Orleans scored the game's first five points and led by seven at the break after a 6-0 run to close the first half. Wesley Johnson's 3-pointer late in the third helped Los Angeles get within 69-66 entering the final stanza and the visitors pulled within two on a 3-pointer by Blake, the hero of Thursday night's win in Houston, midway through the fourth.
Davis answered with consecutive dunks to push the advantage to 80-74. Blake scored five straight points and Young had two free throws to pull the Lakers within three with 3:30 left, but Davis hit a jumper to kick off a 12-0 run that iced it.
