Lee missed the pregame shootaround with his illness and needed multiple rounds of IV fluids before the game. He attacked a short-handed Cleveland frontcourt, compiling double digits in both points and rebounds by the third quarter. Stephen Curry had a well-rounded performance consisting of 21 points, six assists and five rebounds, and Carl Landry added 19 points off the bench to headline a 36-point effort by the Golden State reserves.

Kyrie Irving poured in 28 points for the Cavaliers. Cleveland center Anderson Varejao was a late scratch with a knee bruise sustained in Monday's win over the Clippers, and rookie center Tyler Zeller missed the game due to a fractured cheekbone and concussion.

The Warriors looked like they were going to win this one in a runaway, jumping out to a 12-1 advantage and leading by as many as 17 in the second period. Cleveland got back into the game with a 12-0 run, and took a 69-67 lead in the third quarter. Golden State answered with an 8-0 spurt as part of an 18-5 run to close the period, and stayed in control for the remainder of the contest.

Cleveland's Tristan Thompson, who started at center, had 11 points and 10 boards, while Samardo Samuels moved into the lineup at power forward and scored 11 points while making his first start since March, 2011. Cavaliers rookie Dion Waiters struggled to 12 points on 5-of-15 shooting one game after scoring 28 points and making seven 3-pointers against the Clippers.
