KNICKS 101, PISTONS 79: Tyson Chandler scored 15 points and matched a season best with 17 rebounds to lead host New York past Detroit.
Amar’e Stoudemire scored 17 points, Carmelo Anthony tallied 15 points and J.R. Smith added 14 as the Knicks improved to 6-1 since Mike Woodson replaced fired coach Mike D’Antoni.
Ben Gordon scored 20 points for the Pistons, who have lost five straight and six of seven.
New York led by double digits for most of the second half and outrebounded the Pistons 54-31 to bounce back from Friday’s disappointing loss to the Toronto Raptors.
The Knicks led by 12 points at halftime and boosted the lead over 20 when Steve Novak drained a 3-pointer to make it 93-71 with 5:11 remaining.
Jeremy Lin scored 13 points for New York.
Greg Monroe added 12 points for Detroit, which drops to 4-20 on the road.
The contest was tied at 31 before New York rolled off 13 straight points during a run that ended with a 3-pointer by Lin. The Knicks led 49-37 at halftime.
New York went 3-0 against Detroit to sweep the Pistons for the first time since the 1995-96 campaign.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Lin committed seven of New York’s 22 turnovers. … Detroit shot just 36.8 percent from the field. … The double-double was Chandler’s 13th of the season. … Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey (toe) missed his third consecutive contest.
