JAZZ 105, PISTONS 90: Al Jefferson had 33 points and 12 rebounds and Utah extended its winning streak over Detroit to nine games in Salt Lake City.

Jefferson, playing hours after learning of the death of his grandmother, scored 10 consecutive points in a span of 3:33 late in the fourth quarter to help the Jazz pull away and beat the Pistons for the 12th time in 13 meetings.

Devin Harris scored 19 points and C.J. Miles added 15, including three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, to help Utah closed within 1 1/2 games of eighth-place Houston in the Western Conference.

Rodney Stuckey scored 29 points to pace the Pistons, who had their three-game winning streak snapped and have not win in Utah since Nov. 6, 2002. Utah is 28-4 at home against Detroit since 1980.

The teams were not separated by more than three points from the 10:00 mark of the third quarter until a dunk by Jefferson with 2:31 to play gave Utah a 93-88 lead.

Jefferson buried another jumper and Miles drilled his third 3-pointer to cap a 9-1 run and build the lead to 98-89 with 67 seconds remaining.

Jefferson finished 14 of 18 from the field as the Jazz shot 54.2 percent (39 of 72).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Shooting guard Raja Bell was back in Utah's starting lineup after missing the previous game because of an "internal" matter, which reportedly was a confrontation with coach Tyrone Corbin. ... Jefferson is expected to miss two games this weekend to attend his grandmother's funeral in Mississippi. ... Monday's game kicked off a five-game road trip for Detroit, which will play eight of the next nine away from home.
