Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 108-102 victory over the host Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
Joe Johnson added 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting for Atlanta (23-14), which shot 51 percent (40-of-78). Crawford made 10-of-17 shots and added seven assists.
Atlanta led by as many as 22 points in the fourth quarter and still held a 98-89 advantage after Johnson’s jumper with 1:18 left. Sacramento, which staged a furious fourth-quarter rally to beat Phoenix on Sunday, got layups from rookie DeMarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans to make it a five-point game.
However, Johnson and Crawford each hit two free throws to rebuild the margin to nine, and the Kings could not recover.
Josh Smith contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Al Horford had 10 points and eight rebounds and former King Mike Bibby had 10 boards for Atlanta.
Evans had 29 points, eight assists and five steals to pace Sacramento (7-25). Cousins scored 24 points for the Kings.
