Brook Lopez scored 25 points, and Kris Humphries had 18 points and 17 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 116-103 in London on Friday in the NBA's first regular-season game played in Europe.
Deron Williams had 16 points, including 14 in the second half, and 11 assists for the Nets (18-43), who snapped a six-game losing streak and won their first game against an Atlantic Division team after nine losses.
DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points and Andrea Bargnani had 23 for the Raptors (17-45), who had their six-game winning streak against New Jersey snapped.
The fans at sold-out O2 Arena did the wave, cheered for both teams and seemed to enjoy themselves as much as the Nets (18-43), who took control with an 20-6 run to start the fourth quarter. Sundiata Gaines scored all seven of his points and Jordan Farmar had all six of his during the run.
The Nets took a 108-97 lead with 2:43 to go on a rare four-point play - a 3-pointer by Williams and a free throw by Humphries, who was fouled setting a screen.
It was the first win for the Nets since they acquired Williams, who is averaging 14.5 assists in four games with New Jersey.
