Braves 10, Diamondbacks 2: Freddie Freeman hit two home runs and recorded five RBIs as visiting Atlanta opened a four-game set against Arizona with a victory.
The Braves won their third straight contest and have scored 24 runs on 32 hits in the last two outings.
Freeman, who was 3-for-5, opened the scoring with a two-run blast to left in the first inning and broke the game open with his second home run of the night, a two-run shot over the pool at Chase Field to build the lead to five runs in the top of the seventh.
Mike Minor (2-1) allowed just two runs on five hits, striking out five and retiring 12 straight batters between the fifth and eighth innings.
Jason Heyward went 2-for-5 and had a run-scoring double in the sixth. Juan Francisco followed with a broken-bat single up the middle that plated two runs.
Martin Prado socked a two-run double down the left-field line in the eighth, followed by an identical hit from Freeman to make it 10-2.
Arizona lost its third straight outing and has dropped four in a row to the Braves dating back to 2011.
Josh Collmenter (0-1) went 5 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on six hits and striking out four.
Collmenter's infield out in the third accounted for Arizona's first run and A.J. Pollock scored Henry Blanco on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
