Ducks 3, Canucks 1: Matt Beleskey and Brad Staubitz scored second-period goals as visiting Anaheim posted its third consecutive victory despite resting several regulars.

Andrew Cogliano also tallied and Jonas Hiller (28 saves) came within 3:18 of his second shutout of the season for the Pacific Division champion Ducks, who completed a 3-1-0 road trip.

Defenseman Jason Garrison scored and Roberto Luongo turned aside 27 shots for Northwest champion Vancouver, which had its eight-game home winning streak snapped. Luongo started in place of Cory Schneider, who was scratched with an undisclosed injury.

After a scoreless first period, Anaheim cashed in on a power-play opportunity at 6:44 of the second to take the lead. Defenseman Cam Fowler unleashed a slap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle that Beleskey deflected past Luongo while standing in front of the crease.

Staubitz doubled the advantage less than two minutes later with a shot from the outer edge of the right circle that beat Luongo to the glove side for his second goal in 77 games over the last two seasons. Garrison halved the deficit with a one-timer from above the right circle during a 5-on-3 power play, but Cogliano's short-handed empty-netter with 28 seconds remaining sealed the win for the Ducks.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Vancouver was outshot 25-9 over the first two periods before holding a 20-5 advantage in the third. ...
