Jalen Hurts ran for three touchdowns and Darius Slay returned an interception for a touchdown as the host Philadelphia Eagles held off the New Orleans Saints 40-29 on Sunday afternoon.

Hurts passed for 147 yards and ran for 69 as the Eagles (5-6) had 242 yards on the ground against the NFL's No. 1-ranked run defense. Philadelphia won at home for the first time since a 24-21 victory against the Saints in Week 14 last season and has won consecutive games for the first time this season.

Trevor Siemian, who had not thrown an interception in two previous starts since Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending knee injury, threw two picks, including Slay's touchdown. Siemian completed 22 of 40 for 214 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another score, although New Orleans (5-5) lost its third straight.

Jake Elliott kicked two third-quarter field goals to extend the Eagles' 27-7 halftime lead. Elliott kicked a 33-yarder, and after T.J. Edwards recovered Mark Ingram's fumble at the Saints 41, he added a 47-yarder for a 33-7 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Siemian threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Callaway and ran 17 yards for a touchdown before Brett Maher kicked a 28-yard field goal get New Orleans within 33-22 with 7:14 remaining.

Hurts ran 24 yards for a touchdown and a 40-22 lead with 3:59 left.

Siemian threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey to complete the scoring with 45 seconds left.

Hurts had touchdown runs of 1 and 3 yards to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Christian Ringo recovered Miles Sanders' fumble at the Eagles' 6-yard line, leading to Siemian's 18-yard touchdown pass to Adam Trautman, cutting the lead to 14-7.

Elliott kicked field goals of 50 and 37 yards to increase the lead to 20-7.

New Orleans tried to put together a drive late in the second quarter, but Slay intercepted Siemian's pass and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown with 24 seconds left, giving Philadelphia a 27-7 halftime lead.
