Andy Dalton threw for 264 yards and a touchdown as the surprising Cincinnati Bengals picked up their third straight victory with a 27-17 triumph over the visiting Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Cedric Benson rushed for 57 yards and a score and rookie wide receiver A.J. Green picked up his fourth touchdown for the Bengals (4-2).

The Colts (0-6), who are still searching for their first win, had a chance after Mike Nugent missed a 43-yard field goal attempt with 2:36 left. But Pierre Garcon fumbled on the first play from scrimmage and Carlos Dunlap recovered the ball, returning it 35 yards for a touchdown.

After the ensuing kickoff, Leon Hall intercepted Curtis Painter’s first pass attempt, giving Cincinnati the ball again and allowing it to run out the clock.

Dalton completed 25 of 32 passes and got the Bengals off to a strong start when he turned a first-quarter Colts fumble into a touchdown. Dalton capped a six-play drive by hitting Green with an 11-yard scoring pass.

Donald Brown rushed for a touchdown, and Painter hit Dallas Clark for another score for Indianapolis, which remains one of three winless teams.
