Four Vanderbilt players scored in double figures, led by guard Matthew Fisher-Davis's 22 points, as the Commodores shot well across the board in a 83-59 rout of cross-city rival Tennessee State at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville on Tuesday night.

Forward Jeff Roberson (13), center Luke Kornet (12), and guard Riley LaChance (12) also chipped in, as Vandy shot 54.3 percent from the field, 43.5 percent from the 3-point line and 76.7 percent from the charity stripe.

Center Ken'Darrius Hamilton led the Tigers with 19.

It was the first loss for TSU (6-1), which had all its wins against NCAA Division I teams except its previous victory, which came against NAIA foe Reihhardt.

The Tigers hurt themselves by hitting just 12-of-25 (48 percent) from the foul line.

Vanderbilt (4-3) led by 21 at half, and never let up. The Commodores led by as many as 28 in the second half after forward Joe Toye hit a lay-up with 9:09 remaining.

The Commodores played their best half of hoops this season in the first period. Fisher-Davis and Roberson had 16 and 13 points at the break, respectively, as the Commodores ran out to a 43-22 halftime lead.

Fisher-Davis hit 10 of Vandy's first 17 points, highlighted by a string in which he got a steal and a dunk at the 14:08 mark, followed by a long two from the left side 20 seconds later.

TSU guard Tahjere McCall, the team's leading scorer who averaged 14.5 points per game coming in, picked up his second foul at the 12:08 mark of the first half and played only a few seconds of the period from there. The senior didn't score his first points until a trip to the foul line with 14:32 left, his team trailing by 23 after he hit both, and finished with eight points.
