No. 4 Michigan State 73, Indiana 56: Gary Harris scored a career-high 26 points to lead the visiting Spartans past the Hoosiers in Big Ten play.

Keith Appling scored all 14 of his points in the second half and Branden Dawson added 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting as Michigan State (13-1, 2-0) won its sixth consecutive game. Harris was 5-of-10 from 3-point range and recorded five of the Spartans’ 12 steals.

Yogi Ferrell scored 17 points and Will Sheehey tallied 11 of his 13 points in the second half for Indiana (10-5, 0-2). Stanford Robinson added a season-best 11 points for the Hoosiers, who have gone 5-5 after winning their first five outings.

Indiana had cut a 15-point deficit to 50-41 when Harris scored five points with 8:17 remaining on a four-point play plus hitting one of two technical foul shots, to give the Spartans a 14-point advantage. The Hoosiers pulled within 11 before Appling scored all of Michigan State's points in an 11-3 run to make it 68-49 with 3:36 remaining.

Harris scored eight points during a 10-0 run that saw Michigan State take a 15-9 lead in the first half. The sophomore drained two 3-pointers late in the half to give the Spartans a 33-24 lead at the break and Michigan State boosted its cushion to 40-25 early in the second half.
