No. 21 Wichita State 73, Bradley 39: Malcolm Armstead had 10 points, five rebounds, eight assists and four steals to help the host Shockers beat the Braves for the second time this season and maintain sole possession of first place in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Also for Wichita State (19-2, 8-1 MVC), Nick Wiggins and Jake White both came off the bench and scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. White grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Cleanthony Early had 10 points to help the Shockers extend their winning streak to four games and improve to 19-0 at home dating to last season. Wichita State beat Bradley 69-63 on Jan. 6 in Peoria, Ill.

Bradley (12-9, 4-5), which came in averaging 68 points, was held to a season low. Walt Lemon Jr. scored 14 points to lead the Braves, who fell to 3-5 on the road and 2-21 in MVC road games dating to the 2010-11 season.

Ehimen Orukpe’s layup gave Wichita State a 20-18 lead with 4:56 left in the first half and the Shockers led 32-23 at halftime. Wichita State outrebounded Bradley 39-17.

Bradley is 71-57 in the series against Wichita State but the Shockers are 41-15 all-time at home against the Braves. Wichita State has won seven straight in the series.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wichita State came into the game ranked first in the MVC in scoring defense (59.7) and defensive field-goal percentage (39.2). … Bradley senior guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards, who came into the game ranked third nationally in steals per game (3.15), did not register a steal. … Wichita State registered 16 assists and 10 steals.
