No. 7 Florida 82, Mississippi State 47: Kenny Boynton and Erik Murphy each scored 18 points as the visiting Gators continued their domination of Southeastern Conference opposition against the Bulldogs.

Scottie Wilbekin added 13 points and nine assists while Patric Young finished with 13 points for Florida (16-2, 6-0 SEC), which drilled a season-high 14 3-pointers en route to its first eight-game winning streak since 2009.

Freshman Fred Thomas set career highs with 19 points and seven steals for Mississippi State (7-11, 2-4), which has been outscored by 108 points during its four-game skid.

The Gators trailed once early in the game, but hit three 3-pointers during a 17-2 run that gave them a commanding 20-6 advantage at the 12:54 mark of the first half. The lead quickly swelled to 19 on Boynton’s third 3-pointer of the first half, helping Florida build a 41-19 margin at the break.

Boynton continued his offensive onslaught after intermission, hitting his first three shots as the Gators opened the second half on a 15-2 run as Florida’s lead ballooned to 56-21 with 15:33 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida – the third-best scoring defense in the country entering Saturday – has yet to allow more than 52 points in a conference game. … Mississippi State is off to its worst start in SEC play since 2007. … The Gators outrebounded the Bulldogs, 40-16, enjoying their largest rebounding margin of the season.
