Miami (Fla.) 90, No. 1 Duke 63: Durand Scott scored 25 points and Kenny Kadji added 22 as the Hurricanes took a 23-point halftime lead and cruised past the visiting Blue Devils for their first victory over a top-ranked team.

Point guard Shane Larkin recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds for Miami (14-3, 5-0 ACC), which took a two-game lead in the conference standings. Julian Gamble added five points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for the Hurricanes, who extended their win streak to six.

Rasheed Sulaimon had 16 points, while Mason Plumlee added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Duke (16-2, 3-2), which did not get closer than 22 in the second half. Second-leading scorer Seth Curry was 0-for-10 from the field for the Blue Devils

Miami trailed by a point midway through the first half before scoring 25 of the next 26 points – nine each by Scott and Kadji -- to build a 42-19 lead at intermission. Scott scored 15 points and the Hurricanes held Duke to 22.2 percent shooting from the field – 2-of-11 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.

The Hurricanes got a boost from the surprise early return of Reggie Johnson, who chipped in with two points and five rebounds. The 6-10, 292-pound center, averaging 12.6 points and 10.1 rebounds coming into the night, had missed the last eight games with a broken thumb.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami, which shot 56.9 percent from the field, had its first sellout of the season and improved to 8-0 at home. … Duke, which finished 4-of-23 from 3-point range, went 8:13 without a field goal in the first half. … The Hurricanes were 0-6 against No. 1 teams coming in – two of those against Duke.
