Ryan Evans had 13 points and eight rebounds and the visiting Badgers ran their winning streak to seven games by outlasting the Hoosiers to take sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

Traevon Jackson tallied 11 points while Mike Bruesewitz and Sam Dekker added 10 apiece as Wisconsin (13-4, 4-0) defeated Indiana for the 11th consecutive time and ended the Hoosiers’ six-game winning streak.

Cody Zeller had 23 points and 10 rebounds but was held to five second-half points on 1-for-7 shooting as Indiana (15-2, 3-1) shot just 26.9 percent from the field in the second half and finished at 37 percent. Christian Watford scored 11 points and Victor Oladipo had 10.

Wisconsin built a 51-41 lead midway through the second half due to a 13-2 run and never trailed again. The Hoosiers pulled within 54-53 on two free throws by Watford with 3:40 left, but Evans and Jackson hit back-to-back baskets and the Badgers held on.

Zeller had 18 first-half points and hit all eight of his shots but the Hoosiers led just 32-31. The rest of the Indiana players were 5-for-20 from the field over the first 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Badgers held the Hoosiers to a season-low point total and improved to 12-0 when holding opponents under 60 points. … Watford moved into 15th-place on Indiana’s all-time scoring list with 1,504 points, surpassing Bracey Wright (1,498 from 2002-05). … Wisconsin last lost to Indiana during the 2006-07 campaign.
