Texas A&M's Elston Turner added 14 while Ray Turner chipped in 12. The Aggies shot 52.9 percent from the field, including 7-for-13 from 3-point range.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (1-7) stood within one midway through the first half before the Aggies fired off a 14-3 run, eventually leading by 14 at the break. Texas A&M opened the second half on a 12-2 spurt, but scored only eight points in the final 10:28.

The Islanders were led by Will Nelson, who came off the bench to finish with 17 points. Joy Williamson chipped in 12.
