Maryland 61, South Carolina State 46: Sophomore center Alex Len registered 13 points and six rebounds as the Terrapins turned aside the visiting Bulldogs for their eighth straight victory.

Shaquille Cleare chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds for Maryland (8-1), which controlled the boards 38-25 in the slow-paced game. Dezmine Wells added eight points and Logan Aronhalt seven for the Terrapins.

Adama Adams led the way with 15 points for South Carolina State (4-5), while Khalif Toombs added 12. The Bulldogs, who made 7 of 16 from beyond the 3-point arc, have lost four of their last five games.

Toombs made two consecutive 3-pointers to pull South Carolina State within 21-14 before Aronhalt and Seth Allen answered with 3-pointers to start a 10-0 run for the Terrapins. Maryland settled for a 31-18 halftime lead, holding the Bulldogs to 23.1 percent shooting from the field.

South Carolina State, which has lost its only two meetings with Maryland, hung around early in the second half before Len capped a 6-0 run with a basket to give the Terrapins a 19-point lead with 8:42 left.
