No. 15 San Diego State 84, UC Santa Barbara 70: Chase Tapley led five Aztecs in double figures with 23 points as host San Diego State cruised to its seventh straight win.

Tapley went 6-for-8 from 3-point range, leading San Diego State to its eighth straight win in the series. Jamaal Franklin added 14 points for the Aztecs (7-1).

The Aztecs, who beat the Gauchos in overtime last season, put this one away early. After trailing 5-4 on a Taran Brown 3-pointer, San Diego State scored the next 14 points. The Aztecs, who won their 27th straight game against a team from California, led 46-29 at the half and got eight points from five different players before the break.

San Diego State built its biggest lead, 68-41, with 11:27 left to play. The Gauchos went on a late run but couldn't get closer than 14 points the rest of the way.

Kyle Boswell came off the bench to lead UC Santa Barbara (3-5) with 23 points. Alan Williams added 18 and Brown finished with 16.
