Mercer 61, Florida State 56:
Junior guard Langston Hall scored all 10 of his points in the second half, including a layup with 3:52 remaining that proved to be the game-winner, as the visiting Bears handed the Seminoles their second straight loss.

Travis Smith had a team-high 13 points for Mercer (4-4), which had lost its last eight meetings against Florida State dating back to a 70-63 victory in Macon, Ga., on Jan. 31, 1954.

Junior forward Okaro White finished with a game-high 14 points and six rebounds for the Seminoles, who trailed 57-53 on Hall's bucket.

The Seminoles got as close as 57-56 on a free throw by Terrance Shannon with 33 seconds left, but Shannon missed his second attempt that would have tied it and Mercer center Daniel Coursey got the rebound.

Smith and Hall then sandwiched four free throws around a 3-point miss by Florida State guard Ian Miller to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida State G Michael Snaer, a preseason All-American, finished with just seven points, the first time this season he hasn't scored in double figures. ...
