Kansas 73, Texas 63:
Thomas Robinson had 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the No. 4 Jayhawks past the dinged-up Longhorns.

It was the 22nd double-double of the season for Robinson, a frontrunner for the National Player of the Year award who helped host Kansas (26-5, 16-2 Big 12) dominate inside against the Longhorns.

J'Covan Brown scored 29 of his 33 points in the second half for Texas (19-12, 9-9), who had two big men injured.

Clint Chapman turned his ankle in the first half but played through it, and Alexis Wangmene collided with Chapman early in the second and went out with a left wrist injury.

The Longhorns, who entered the game on the NCAA tournament bubble, are still lacking in marquee victories. They’ll likely need to win at least one game - and possibly two - in next week’s Big 12 Tournament to feel safe on Selection Sunday.

Trailing 26-21 after a sluggish first half in which both teams shot 36 percent, Brown desperately tried to keep the Longhorns in it, scoring his team’s first 15 points after the break.

But Robinson’s driving jumper made it 45-36, and Elijah Johnson followed that with a 3-pointer to extend Kansas’ lead to 48-36 with 11:14 left.

Kansas senior Tyshawn Taylor had 22 in his final home game.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Texas shot 3 of 17 on 3-pointers. … No Longhorn other than Brown scored until the 9:53 mark of the second half. … Kansas has won 91 of its past 92 games at Allen Fieldhouse.
