MICHIGAN 62, NEBRASKA 46: Zack Novak scored 14 points and Stu Douglass added 13 as the No. 25 Wolverines halted their road woes with a dominating defensive performance.

Michigan (18-7, 8-4 Big Ten) won for only the second time in eight true road games as it stymied Nebraska for most of the contest, holding the struggling Cornhuskers’ offense to 21.7 percent shooting and 15 points in the first half.

Although the Wolverines led only 22-15 at the break, they continued forcing Nebraska into difficult shots and methodically increased their lead to as many as 26 points late in the second half.

The final margin of victory was the largest in a road game for Michigan under coach John Beilein.

Despite the continued struggles of leading scorer Tim Hardaway Jr., the Wolverines – who have struggled with their 3-point accuracy for most of the season – shot 45.8 percent behind the arc in this contest, their best performance in conference play.

Bo Spencer led Nebraska in scoring for the 17th time this season with 13 points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: With two 3-pointers in the opening minutes, Novak became the 28th player in school history to record 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. … Nebraska missed 12 of its first 13 shots. … The Wolverines committed only one turnover in the first half. ... Hardaway, who shot 36.7 percent from the 3-point line as a freshman, missed all six of his attempts behind the arc Wednesday and finished with six points. He is hitting only 25.9 of his 3-point attempts for the season.
