Thomas Robinson had 27 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 7 Kansas dealt third-ranked Baylor its first loss in a 92-74 rout Monday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Robinson, a National Player of the Year candidate who came in averaging 17.2 points and 12.2 rebounds, shot 11-of-18 from the field and 5-of-6 on free throws. Jeff Withey, the Jayhawks’ other big man, notched only his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, nine of which were offensive.

The duo led a 36-21 rebounding margin and helped the Jayhawks (15-3, 5-0 Big 12) win their eighth straight and take sole possession of first place in the Big 12.

Tyshawn Taylor scored a career-high 28 points for the second straight game for Kansas, which went on a 13-0 run over the last four minutes of the first half to take a 39-29 lead into the break. Taylor had 11 points during that stretch, the last of which came on a pull-up 3-pointer with seven seconds left.

Perry Jones III had 18 points for Baylor (17-1, 4-1 Big 12), which snapped its school-record winning streak. Syracuse and Murray State are the only teams left with unblemished records.

Jones III came out hot, but he rolled his ankle when he came down on Robinson’s foot late in the first half, and that led to the game-changing Kansas run.

After the break, the Jayhawks quickly went on a 14-5 spurt to take a 57-42 advantage when Robinson found Travis Releford underneath for a layup six minutes into the second half.

Later, Taylor hit a 3-pointer from the right wing, capping an 8-0 run and stretching Kansas’ lead to 71-52 with 9:32 remaining.
