Devoe Joseph and Olu Ashaolu each had 13 points as Oregon snapped a six-game losing streak against Arizona with a 59-57 victory Saturday at the McKale Center.

E.J. Singler, a junior, finished in double figures (12) for the 15th time in 18 games for the Ducks (13-5, 4-2 Pac-12), who needed to hold on late to preserve the victory.

Trailing 59-57, Arizona had three chances to tie or take the lead on the final possession, but came up empty. Nick Johnson and Brendon Lavender each misfired on 3-point attempts, and then Kyle Fogg’s pull-up jumper near the foul line rimmed out at the buzzer.

The Ducks held on for their fourth win in six games since Pac-12 play began on Dec. 29. Arizona, meanwhile, fell to 10-2 at home.

Arizona (12-6, 3-2 Pac-12) used a 23-9 run, capped off by a pair of Johnson free throws with 2:59 remaining, to take a 56-54 lead.

But Singler tied the score at 56 on the ensuing possession, and then Garrett Sim made a 3-pointer with 1:48 left to give the Ducks a 59-56 advantage.

Arizona, which didn’t score a field goal over the game’s final three minutes, managed just one free throw the rest of the way.

Solomon Hill had a game-high 16 points and Josiah Turner added 11 for the Wildcats, who shot just 41 percent.

Sim finished with 12 points for Oregon, which is off to its best Pac-12 start since opening conference play 5-1 in 2006-07. That season, Oregon went on to win the conference tournament and made it to the Elite Eight before losing to Florida — the eventual national champions.

The win was Oregon’s first at the McKale center since defeating the Wildcats 84-74 on Jan. 5, 2008.
