Brad Loesing scored 17 points and Wofford parlayed a 14-3 surge late in the first half into a 56-52 upset victory over host Wake Forest on Monday.

Wofford (8-6) led by two 18-16 with 5:40 to go in the first half before Karl Cochran's 3-pointer began a run of nine consecutive points that paved the way to a 32-22 halftime cushion.

The Demon Deacons (9-5) got as close as two points with four seconds left before time ran out on their comeback bid as Loesing made two foul shots with two seconds remaining to ice it.

Travis McKie scored a game-high 25 points for the Demon Deacons.

Neither team fared well offensively, with Wake Forest shooting 39 percent from the field and making 1-of-10 3-point attempts. The Terriers were worse, shooting 34 percent from the floor and keeping the Demon Deacons in the game by going 5-for-15 from the foul line.
