C.J. Leslie scored 12 points – including the go-ahead jumper with less than a second left – to lead North Carolina State to a 67-65 victory over St. Bonaventure in a neutral site game in Rochester, N.Y., on Tuesday.

Scott Wood scored 20 points for the Wolfpack (7-4), who bounced back from a competitive loss to top-ranked Syracuse by beating a very talented mid-major.

Leslie’s clutch basket came after Eric Mosley’s free throws tied it with two seconds left. The sophomore forward, who nearly entered the NBA draft after last season, provided a thrilling finish to a contest that featured eight ties and 14 lead changes.

Andrew Nicholson and Demitrius Conger each scored 16 points for Bonnies (5-5), who suffered a sixth straight heartbreaking loss at Blue Cross Arena - an 11,200-seat venue in which they have played seven times in the last 11 years.

The Bonnies’ previous five losses in Rochester had been by an average of 4.3 points. The Blue Cross Arena was chosen to host this game because St. Bonaventure's regular home, the 45-year-old Reilly Center, only holds about 3,800.

It was the first meeting between the schools since 1970, when St. Bonaventure knocked off North Carolina State in the first round of the 1970 NCAA Tournament. And it was tight throughout. Neither team led by more than eight points.

St. Bonaventure closed the first half on a 13-3 run and carried a 39-37 lead into the break thanks to Mosley’s jumper with four seconds left.
