Kevin Foster scored 16 points to help Fresno State cruise to an 82-52 victory over visiting Utah on Saturday.

Kevin Olekaibe and Steven Shepp scored 15 points apiece as the Bulldogs (4-4) handed the Utes their sixth straight loss.

Chris Hines scored 14 points and Jason Washburn had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Utah (1-6), which suffered its fourth 20-point loss of the season.

Fresno State shot 58.2 percent from the field and committed just six turnovers. Utah shot just 34.7 percent.

Fresno State led by 10 points at halftime and started the second half with a 11-4 run capped by Shepp’s 3-pointer to give the Bulldogs a 46-29 advantage with 16:41 remaining.

The lead reached 30 points on Larry McGaughey’s jumper to make it 77-47 with 4:09 to play.

The Utes cut the deficit to three with 7:40 left in the first half after a 3-pointer by Hines. But Jonathan Wills drained a 3-pointer to start a string of seven straight Fresno State points as the Bulldogs took a 35-25 halftime lead.

Utah’s lone victory was a season-opening 58-55 win over NAIA program San Diego Christian.
