Freshman Kendall Marshall had 15 points and 11 assists to help host North Carolina win the ACC regular-season title with an impressive 81-67 victory over rival Duke on Saturday.

Freshman Harrison Barnes scored 18 points, and John Henson had 12 rebounds and 10 points for No. 13 North Carolina (24-6, 14-2 ACC), which has won seven straight and 17 of 19.

The Tar Heels, who were the first ACC team to shoot at least 50 percent (33 of 63) against Duke this season, took complete control after a 12-4 run gave them a 51-39 halftime lead.

Nolan Smith had 30 points for No. 4 Duke (27-4, 13-3), which shot 35 percent and went nearly six minutes without a field goal in the second half.

Seth Curry hit all six of Duke’s 3-pointers and finished with 20 points, but the rest of the Blue Devils were 0 for 16 from beyond the arc.

It was the fifth straight time the ACC title was at stake when the archrivals, separated by seven miles, faced off in the season finale.

In winning the ACC regular-season title for a fourth time in five seasons, North Carolina avenged a 79-73 loss to Duke on Feb. 9 when the Tar Heels blew a 16-point lead.

The No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament, North Carolina will play at 12 p.m. ET on Friday. The Blue Devils are the No. 2 seed in the ACC tournament and will play at 7 p.m. ET.
