After losing three games in the Paradise Jam tournament last week, Alabama rebounded Saturday with a convincing 75-50 victory over visiting Alabama A&M.

Senior guard Senario Hillman scored 15 points and sophomore forward Tony Mitchell recorded his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 15 rebounds for Alabama (3-3), which led by as many as 31 points in the second half.

Cornelius Hester led Alabama A&M with 15 points, while Casey Cantey scored 12 and Demarquelle Tabb had 10 rebounds and nine points. The Bulldogs (2-2) were outscored 40-22 in the paint, 16-13 off turnovers and 18-7 on second chance points.

Alabama, which shot 51.7 percent (31 for 60) from the field, received 11 points from senior guard Charvez Davis, while senior forward Chris Hines had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Crimson Tide played without starting junior forward JaMychal Green, who was suspended indefinitely prior to the game for conduct detrimental to the team. He wasn’t missed against the Bulldogs, however, as sophomore guard Ben Eblen, freshman guard Charles Hankerson Jr., and freshman forward Jason Carter combined for 18 of the Tide's 38 second-half points.

Freshman Trevor Releford had seven assists for Alabama, which started the second half on a 10-0 run after leading 38-21 at halftime. The Crimson Tide evened its record after losing to Seton Hall, Iowa and St. Peter’s at the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
