Behind for the first 10 minutes, No. 3 Ohio State finally got on track Tuesday night, pulling away for a 64-45 home victory over Morehead State.

The Buckeyes (4-0) remained unbeaten on the season, but it took time for Ohio State to get going. Morehead State scored seven of the game’s first nine points, and the Buckeyes didn’t move into the lead until Jon Diebler’s 3-point jumper with 10:47 to go in the opening half.

Coming in, the Buckeyes hadn’t been challenged all season, winning their first three games by 41, 18 and 40 points. But the Eagles (2-3) were within three points late in the first half before Diebler hit another 3-pointer to give the Buckeyes a 30-24 halftime advantage.

In the second half, Ohio State pushed the lead to 46-35 on a Jared Sullinger basket, capping an 11-3 run.

Diebler hit four 3-pointers, leading the Buckeyes with 20 points. Deshaun Thomas came off the bench to score 16 points. David Lighty scored 11 points with seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Kenneth Faried led the Eagles with 15 points, 12 rebounds and five steals.

The Buckeyes wrap up a three-game homestand Friday against Miami (Ohio), then hit the road for a Tuesday contest at Florida State. Morehead State ends a four-game road trip Sunday at SIU-Edwardsville.
