Bulls 117, Nuggets 89: D.J. Augustin collected 22 points and eight assists off the bench as Chicago crushed visiting Denver.

Tony Snell added a career-high 20 points in a reserve role and Joakim Noah recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three blocks as the Bulls pushed their winning streak to five straight. Taj Gibson had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Chicago, which put seven players in double figures.

Randy Foye scored 23 points to lead the Nuggets, who lost for the sixth time in seven games. Aaron Brooks, who was acquired from the Houston Rockets on Thursday, made his debut and added 17 points off the bench.

The Bulls wasted no time taking control of the game and never trailed. Jimmy Butler’s 3-pointer with one minute left in the first quarter made it a 32-12 lead and Chicago continued to pile on in the second quarter, pushing it a 28-point gap on Snell’s 3-pointer late in the period before settling for a 69-46 lead at the break.

Denver made a brief run in the third quarter and cut it to 78-64 midway through the period before the Bulls turned it back on. Augustin and Snell hit from beyond the arc on back-to-back possessions late in the period to help give Chicago a 94-69 lead heading to the fourth, and Gibson’s jumper capped a 12-0 burst opening the final frame as the Bulls coasted.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago snapped a five-game losing streak to Denver. … Nuggets F Kenneth Faried was called for a flagrant 1 foul for dragging Snell to the ground and Noah and Brooks were hit with technicals in the ensuing scrum. … Denver’s last six losses have come by an average of 23.8 points.
