Grizzlies 111, Pistons 108 (OT): Mike Conley scored 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting to lead all scorers as Memphis needed overtime to win its home opener over Detroit.

Zach Randolph recovered from a shaky season debut, scoring 16 points and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds, and Tony Allen contributed 16 points, four assists and five steals for the Grizzlies, who won their seventh straight decision over the Pistons. Marc Gasol pitched in with 15 points, including the game-tying basket in the waning seconds of regulation, and added eight rebounds for Memphis.

Rodney Stuckey, who missed the opener recovering from a thumb injury, led Detroit's offense with 19 points off the bench. Josh Smith added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons, who have not started a season with consecutive wins since 2008-09.

The teams were tied at 77-77 midway through the fourth quarter before Detroit appeared to pull away, leading by as many as seven points with 2:35 to play. Gasol followed with eight points down the stretch as the Grizzlies closed with a 13-6 run to force overtime.

Chauncey Billups had a clear look at a 3-pointer to win the game in regulation for Detroit but it wouldn't fall. Former Piston Tayshaun Prince had six of his eight points in overtime as Memphis outscored Detroit 16-13 in the extra frame to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Memphis, which is 0-13 in season openers since relocating from Vancouver, won its home opener for the second consecutive season. ... Billups followed a 16-point, five-assist performance in his Detroit return on opening night with just five points on 1-of-7 shooting. ... Grizzlies coach David Joerger, who took over for Lionel Hollins this summer, recorded his first career win.
