76ers 109, Wizards 102: Thaddeus Young scored 29 points on 14-of-20 shooting and Evan Turner added 23 as visiting Philadelphia rallied from a 12-point third-quarter deficit to defeat Washington.

Spencer Hawes had 16 points and 14 rebounds and Michael Carter-Williams added 14 points as the 76ers got off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2006-07 season. Philadelphia used a 23-7 fourth-quarter burst to turn a seven-point deficit into a 101-92 lead with 3:48 to play.

John Wall had 26 points and six assists for Washington but had just three second-half points on 1-of-6 shooting. Martell Webster scored 13 points, Trevor Ariza had 12 points and 14 rebounds and Marcin Gortat added 12 points as the Wizards lost their second straight.

Carter-Williams drained a 3-pointer with 6:28 to play to give the 76ers their first lead of the game at 92-89. Young’s basket culminated the decisive splurge to give Philadelphia the nine-point lead, and Washington never got closer than three down the stretch.

Wall had 23 first-half points as the Wizards held a 54-44 lead at the break. Philadelphia used a 16-4 run in the third quarter to tie the score at 72 on a layup by Darius Morris with 1:27 left in the stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington racked up 14 steals with Wall and Al Harrington having three apiece. … The 76ers shot 60.4 percent from the field in the second half to finish at 51.1. … Nene (calf) sat out for the Wizards, giving the recently acquired Gortat his first start with the team.
