Nets 99, Bobcats 78: Joe Johnson scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half and visiting Brooklyn rode a dominant third quarter to hand Charlotte its eighth consecutive defeat.

Deron Williams added 20 points and Brook Lopez scored 16 as the Nets erased a 10-point halftime deficit to beat the Bobcats for the sixth straight time. Reggie Evans collected 16 rebounds to lead Brooklyn to an overwhelming 49-29 edge on the glass.

Rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 17 points and Ben Gordon added 16 off the bench for Charlotte, which dropped to 2-21 in its last 23 home games and has lost 43 of 49 overall.

The Nets, who had lost four of five coming in, took control in the third quarter by hitting 11 of 12 shots in one stretch and outscoring the Bobcats 28-9 to turn a 53-43 halftime deficit into a 71-62 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Charlotte got as close as 80-72 on Gordon's jumper with 7:16 to play but Brooklyn responded by scoring the next nine points and built the lead to 95-74 on back-to-back 3-pointers by Johnson.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nets F Gerald Wallace set a season high with five blocked shots to to go with eight points and eight rebounds. ... Bobcats F Byron Mullens was back in the starting lineup after playing only three minutes Monday vs. Portland due to a sore knee, but he had only four points in 13 minutes. ... Charlotte shot 50 percent in the opening half but saw that percentage cut in half (10 of 40) after the break.
