Rockets 107, Lakers 105:
Toney Douglas and Greg Smith came off the bench to combine for 43 points and host Houston rallied from a 17-point deficit to shock Los Angeles.

Rockets leading scorer James Harden endured a brutal shooting night, going 3-for-19 from the field but finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. The bench picked up the slack with 59 points, as Douglas scored 22, Smith added 21 to go with nine rebounds and Carlos Delfino chipped in 15.

Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 39 points, but he misfired on a 3-pointer that would have given the Lakers the lead in the final seconds and Metta World Peace missed a potential tying jumper at the buzzer after grabbing the rebound. Dwight Howard had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Lakers, and Antawn Jamison added 15 and nine.

The Lakers led by 10 going to the final quarter and never trailed until Douglas' 3-pointer with 2:38 left. Los Angeles made just one field goal in the final 3:36.

The Rockets have won six straight at home and five of six overall.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bryant needs 13 points to reach 30,000 for his career and become the youngest player in NBA history to reach the mark. … Rockets F Chandler Parsons scored 13 points, giving him a career-best 10 consecutive games scoring in double digits. … Lakers F Pau Gasol did not play because of tendinitis in both knees.
