Carlos Boozer scored 22 points and the Chicago Bulls clinched the best record in the Eastern Conference with a 93-82 victory Friday over the host Cleveland Cavaliers.

It’s the first time the Bulls (59-20) will finish with the East’s best record since 1997-98, which was also the last time Chicago won an NBA championship.

Joakim Noah had 11 points and eight rebounds, Derrick Rose had 11 points and eight assists (his lowest point total in 20 games) and the Bulls won for the 18th time in their last 20 games. They clinched the top seed on the floor of the team that earned it each of the last two years.

Times are much different now for the Cavs (17-62), the East’s worst team. J.J. Hickson had 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Daniel Gibson and Ramon Sessions combined for 27 points off the bench.

The Cavs pulled within 60-57 on a Hickson dunk with 7:05 left in the third quarter, but Chicago scored the next 10 points to take command. Rose’s driving layup near the end of the quarter put the Bulls up 15 and they weren’t threatened in the fourth.
