Eugenio Suarez smacked a bases-loaded single off the right field wall as the final hero as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Milwaukee Brewers 11-10 in 10 innings in a wild back-and-forth thriller Sunday in the finale of a three-game series in Phoenix.

With Brewers closer Devin Williams available yet sitting in the bullpen and Milwaukee ahead 10-8 following a two-RBI triple by Jackson Chourio in the top of the 10th, Arizona scored three runs off Milwaukee's Jared Koenig (8-4), who took the loss after tossing a scoreless ninth.

Adrian Del Castillo opened the bottom of the 10th with an RBI single, then Koenig loaded the bases with nobody out and hit Christian Walker with a pitch to tie the score at 10 before Suarez's winning single.

The implosion salvaged a win in the series for Arizona (83-66), which remained 1 1/2 games behind the San Diego Padres for the top National League wild-card spot, and handed the NL Central-leading Brewers (86-63) just their second loss during a six-game road trip..

Chourio finished 3-for-6 with a career-high five RBIs for Milwaukee. Arizona's Justin Martinez intentionally walked Brice Turang in the 10th to bring Chourio up to bat.

After falling behind 5-0 on Pavin Smith's three-run double in third inning, the Brewers scored eight runs in a row. Chourio trimmed the Arizona lead to 5-3 in the fifth with his 21st homer of the season after Eric Haase and Turang led off with a pair of singles.

Milwaukee took a 7-5 lead in the sixth on a Willy Adames two-RBI double after Haase smacked a game-tying two-run homer. Sal Frelick added an RBI single in the seventh to make it 8-5 before Aaron Ashby surrendered two runs in the bottom of the inning, on Geraldo Perdomo's run-scoring single and Randal Grichuk's RBI double.

Corbin Carroll tied the game at 8 in the eighth, scoring from third on a sacrifice fly by Suarez to center. Carroll got on against Milwaukee setup man Trevor Megill with a leadoff walk, then stole second and reached third on a wild pitch.

Suarez had three RBIs and Josh Bell went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and an RBI for the Diamondbacks. Blake Walston (1-0) retired one batter in the top of the 10th.

Arizona's Kevin Ginkel allowed four earned runs after starter Zac Gallen scattered six hits and surrendered three runs and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

DL Hall, making his first start since Aug. 30 as the Brewers have gone to a six-man rotation, surrendered five runs, five hits and three walks while striking out four in three innings. Joe Ross relieved Hall to start the fourth and went 2 1/3, surrendering one hit.
