Jackson Chourio hit a pair of two-run homers as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers struck a season-high six long balls and pounded the Atlanta Braves 16-7 on Thursday to complete a sweep of their three-game series.

The Brewers combined for 34 runs and 52 hits over the three games. They swept the Braves in Atlanta for the first time since 2016 and won the season series 4-2.

The loss was the fifth straight for the Braves.

Chourio, who went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBIs, homered in the second and fifth innings, giving him 14 for the season. Over the last 16 games, Chourio is batting .408 (29-for-71) with five homers and 15 RBIs.

William Contreras, Garrett Mitchell, Willy Adames and Jake Bauers also went deep for the Brewers, who fell one homer short of matching the franchise record.

Contreras hit a two-run homer, his 13th homer of the season. Mitchell hit a solo shot, his second homer of the season. Adames hit a solo homer, his 20th homer of the year. Bauers added a two-run homer, his ninth homer of the year.

Sal Frelick had four hits and Contreras added three hits to pace the 20-hit attack. Seven Brewers had multiple hits.

Milwaukee starter Frankie Montas was lifted after four innings and 91 pitches. He allowed three runs on two hits and four walks, with seven strikeouts.

The winning pitcher was Elvis Peguero (7-3), who followed Montas with one scoreless frame.

Atlanta starter Charlie Morton (6-7) was lifted after pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowing eight runs on nine hits and one walk. He struck out three. The veteran allowed a career-high four home runs and was called for a balk. It was the second time in three starts that Morton failed to get through the third inning.

Atlanta used position player Luke Williams to pitch the eighth and ninth innings. It was his second appearance of the series.

Atlanta got a three-run homer from Austin Riley, his 17th homer of the season. He has homered in back-to-back games. Marcell Ozuna added a solo homer, his 33rd homer of the season.

Parker Dunshee, recalled from Double-A Mississippi on Thursday, made his major league debut for Atlanta and yielded five runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
