Brandon Lowe homered, doubled twice and had three RBIs, Ryan Yarbrough pitched five-plus relief innings, and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays held on to defeat the Cleveland Indians 6-4 on Sunday.

Yarbrough (13-5) allowed one run, two hits and one walk as the Rays won the rubber match of the three-game series. The left-hander struck out three.

Jose Alvarado pitched two-thirds of an inning to pick up his seventh save despite allowing Melky Cabrera's two-run double in Cleveland's three-run ninth.

Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco (16-8) allowed five runs, nine hits and two walks and had nine strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.

Diego Castillo, who opened for the Rays for the fourth time in 34 appearances, tossed a perfect first inning. Yarbrough replaced him after Castillo allowed a leadoff single in the bottom of the second.

Lowe, who homered in the ninth inning Saturday, hit his third home run of the season to lead off the top of the second.

Tampa Bay's C.J. Cron led off the fourth with his 26th homer of the season.

Rays third baseman Joey Wendle had a good game in the field, making three spectacular plays to get outs at first, two of them in the sixth inning.

He also contributed with his bat, hitting an RBI ground-rule double in the Rays' four-run seventh inning. The double scored Carlos Gomez, who led off with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Adam Moore. Wendle scored on a triple by Tommy Pham.

Neil Ramirez replaced Carrasco and walked Ji-Man Choi. With two outs, Lowe hit a two-run double. After Willy Adames walked, Tyler Olson replaced Ramirez and ended the inning with a strikeout.

Michael Brantley led off the bottom of the seventh with a double, Cleveland's second hit of the game and the first against Yarbrough. Brantley scored on a single by Jose Ramirez that was deflected by first baseman Cron. Yarbrough was replaced by Adam Kolarek, who finished the inning on a flyout and a double-play grounder.

Kolarek pitched around his own error in the eighth.

In the ninth, Rays right-hander Hunter Wood allowed a leadoff single to Francisco Lindor, a one-out walk to Ramirez and an RBI single to Yandy Diaz. Alvarado replaced Wood. Cabrera hit a two-out double to score two runs before Jason Kipnis struck out to end the game.
