PHOENIX -- Phil Gosselin's first career inside-the-park home run actually reached the left field stands, but he was not about to quibble.

"A homer is a homer, I don't care if it is inside the park or out," the Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman said.

Gosselin's homer sparked a four-run seventh inning rally in the Diamondbacks' 8-6 victory Thursday that concluded a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field.

Gosselin hit a line drive that left fielder Rafael Ynoa attempted to catch with a leap at the fence. TV replays showed the ball struck a fan and caromed back onto the field, but second base umpire Lance Barrett gave the safe sign, indicating the ball was still in play.

Gosselin, who had five hits and three RBIs in the series, kept running and scored without a play.

"I figured I might as well make sure," Gosselin said.

Arizona catcher Welington Castillo, who hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the seventh, finished with three RBIs. Rookie Socrates Brito had three hits and scored two runs after replacing left fielder David Peralta, who sustained a wrist injury when his glove caught in the grass as he attempted to catch Ynoa's liner to short left in the fourth inning.

The D-backs did not disclose the exact nature of the injury but said X-rays were negative. Peralta is to be evaluated by a specialist Friday.

"I thought it was broken," said Peralta, who singled in the first inning to raise his batting average to .312, eighth in the National League. "That was a scary moment for me."

Arizona (78-81) won its fourth straight and will finish the season with a three-game home series against the Houston Astros, who are three games behind the Texas Rangers in the American League West and one game ahead of the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Angels for the second AL wild card.

"It'll be fun," Arizona manager Chip Hale said. "It's a chance for us to play our October baseball these last three games. We are going to give it everything we have. Our players know how important it is to play at a high level."

Brito singled as a pinch hitter for Peralta in the fourth inning and finished with two singles and his first career triple. He stole a base and drove in a run, and he also threw out a runner at third base attempting to advance from first on a single.

Ynoa had two hits and two RBIs, and first baseman Wilin Rosario had two hits and an RBI for the Rockies (66-93).

Right fielder Kyle Parker and shortstop Jose Reyes had two hits apiece for Colorado, which scored runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take a 6-4 lead.

The game was tied at 3 after four innings and 4 after five innings. Rockies reliever Justin Miller (3-3) got the first two outs of the seventh before Gosselin's homer started the decisive rally.

"We played well for about seven innings, but it got away from us late," Colorado manager Walt Weiss said. "You have to find a way to win those games, whether it is on the offensive side or on the mound or defensively."

Neither starter figured in the decision. Colorado right-hander David Hale gave up four runs in five innings, and Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings.

NOTES: Colorado RF Carlos Gonzalez was held out of the starting lineup against Arizona LHP Patrick Corbin. Gonzalez sprained a finger on an awkward swing against Corbin in July 2013 and played only 19 games the rest of the year. ... Arizona OF Ender Inciarte (shin) missed his second consecutive game. ... All of Arizona's starts this season have been made by pitchers younger than 30, a franchise first, and the final three scheduled starters are under 30, too. Tampa Bay is the only other team that has not had a starter older than 29 this season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. ... Arizona RHP Brad Ziegler is scheduled to rejoin the team Friday. He had been with his wife since the birth of their child Monday night.
