Cardinals 3, Brewers 2 (13): Tony Cruz delivered an RBI single with one out in the 13th inning as host St. Louis rallied for its eighth walk-off victory of the season.

Jhonny Peralta singled with one out and one on to put runners on first and second for Cruz, who hit a grounder up the middle off Jimmy Nelson (2-8) to plate Matt Adams with the winning run. Adams and Jon Jay each recorded two hits and an RBI while Sam Freeman (2-0) notched the win for the Cardinals, who maintained their 2 1/2-game lead over second-place Pittsburgh in the National League Central.

Aramis Ramirez and Scooter Gennett registered two hits and an RBI apiece for the Brewers, who fell 3 1/2 games behind the Pirates for the second NL wild-card spot. Jonathan Lucroy and Ryan Braun each added two hits as Milwaukee dropped six games behind St. Louis with nine remaining.

Cardinals starter Shelby Miller retired the first 11 batters he faced before Lucroy delivered a two-out double in the fourth and scored on Ramirez's single. Milwaukee doubled its lead in the fifth as Matt Clark led off with a single and scored on an error by first baseman Adams later in the inning.

St. Louis rallied to tie it in the eighth as Jay ripped a two-out RBI single to left field and Adams drew a bases-loaded walk from Jonathan Broxton after video review determined Matt Holliday beat out a grounder to second base with a head-first slide. Broxton retired Peralta on a groundout to keep the game even.
