Rockies 7, Cubs 5:
Jordan Pacheco blasted a three-run homer and former Chicago prospect D.J. LeMahieu added a two-run shot as host Colorado completed a three-game sweep.

Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin (3-5) allowed three runs over five innings and Colorado's bullpen held Chicago at bay until the ninth, when Anthony Rizzo's RBI single pulled the Cubs within three and Alfonso Soriano's double made it 7-5. Rafael Betancourt got out of the jam, recording the final three outs for his 31st save.

Rizzo went 3-for-3 with two walks and launched his 15th home run for Chicago, which has lost nine of its last 10. The Cubs must win four of their final six games to avoid a 100-loss season.

Cubs starter Chris Volstad (3-11) lasted just three innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits. The Cubs' bullpen turned in five scoreless frames, but Chicago couldn't muster a rally.

Pacheco extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a three-run blast to left in the first, and LeMahieu added his two-run shot in the second. The Rockies capped their scoring in the third on Chris Nelson's RBI single and Matt McBride's sacrifice fly.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cubs have lost 16 straight road games against National League West opponents. … Cubs 2B Darwin Barney played his 141st consecutive game without an error at second base, tying Placido Polanco's major league record set in 2007. … The Rockies had 12 hits and have recorded double-digit hits in eight straight games.
