Mets 6, Pirates 5: R.A. Dickey struck out 13 over 7 2/3 innings to become the Mets' first 20-game winner in 22 years, and David Wright belted a three-run homer as New York won its final home contest of the season.

Dickey (20-6), who recorded his seventh game of 10-or-more strikeouts, moved ahead of Los Angeles' Clayton Kershaw for the league lead with 222 on the season. The veteran knuckleballer became the sixth pitcher in Mets' history to reach the 20-win plateau, and the first since Frank Viola in 1990.

A day after setting the franchise hits record, Wright deposited a fastball from Kevin Correia (11-11) over the wall in right-center field. With his 21st homer, Wright improved to 13-for-17 in his career versus Correia.

After Ike Davis led off the second inning with his 31st homer, Mike Baxter attempted to follow suit before right fielder Travis Snider climbed the fence and made a sensational catch to maintain Pittsburgh's 2-1 lead.

Alex Presley launched a two-run homer off Jon Rauch to pull the Pirates within one at 6-5, but Bobby Parnell retired the last two batters for his fifth save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen exited the contest in the seventh inning with an injured left knee after trying to catch Daniel Murphy's fly ball. ... Former Met Rod Barajas gave the Pirates a 3-1 lead after depositing an 0-2 knuckleball from Dickey into the seats in left field for his 11th homer. ... New York seized three of four from Pittsburgh and posted its sixth win in seven home outings.
